Ok I’m a sucker. My son just loves the Steven Universe cartoon, it shows on Cartoon Network. He will talk about it and draw pictures. He’s actually quite good. I’ll have to share some when I get my hands on them. So last night he was talking about a few of the episodes and I was just sitting there like uh huh. I’ve never really watched them. I’ll watch a YouTube clip with him. So I’m sitting here at work and figured I would watch one. Just so I can actually understand what he’s talking about. It was pretty good. It’s hard to share what the show is actually about, so here’s what Steven Universe Wiki says:
First airing on November 4th, 2013, Steven Universe is a coming-of-age story told from the perspective of Steven, the youngest member of the group, the Crystal Gems, a team of magical guardians, and protectors of the Universe. The animated series was conceived as part of the shorts development initiative at Cartoon Network Studios, and is created by Emmy and Annie Award-nominated writer and storyboard artist, Rebecca Sugar. Sugar is Cartoon Network’s first solo female show creator.
It has actually made me want to watch more. Does that make me a strange parent or a parent that is actually into what her kid does. Yes he’s my only one and he’s turning 13 in July! I just embeded the episode I just watch called Super Watermelon Island.
I would like to know. Have you watched a show that your kid(s) have watched to know what they are talking about or have you just faked it? I’d like to hear your thoughts on this one.
